Great design starts with great conversations. Communication guides everything we do at Ripple Design Studio. Getting to know our clients—their dreams, passions and goals—is where it all begins. Just like our homes, we build our relationships with great thought, care, respect and a sense of fun. And while every design is unique, they share the same qualities: elegant yet approachable, lovely yet livable, innovative yet timeless.
About Us

Meet the Team
Jim Dearth AIA
Principal
A Pacific Northwest native, Jim has lived and worked in London, Paris and beyond, bringing a European sensibility to his designs. He’s known for his friendly, down-to-earth personality as much as his problem-solving skills. Jim loves a good challenge, believing the most complex sites often lead to the richest solutions. As a LEED Accredited Professional who earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Colorado, he strives for design that lives in harmony with the environment. Jim founded Ripple Design Studio in 2005.
Jeffrey Almeter AIA
Associate
Jeff enjoys all phases of the design and construction process (he did framing, drywall and painting back in the day). As our go-to technical expert, he directs the firm’s virtual reality experiences for clients. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University before making his way to Seattle and Ripple Design Studio in 2014.
Lucy Mamiya
Associate
A UK native, Lucy studied Architecture at Oxford Brookes University before making her move to Seattle in 2008. After spending time on the commercial side, she realized her passion for residential architecture and interior design. She loves all aspects of her job, especially seeing her clients’ excitement as their projects progress.
Matthieu Mazaudier, AIA
Associate
A passion for the human scale inspires Matthieu’s approach to residential design. After earning his Master of Architecture from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Montpellier, France, he drove commercial projects from Singapore to Oman. Now at Ripple Design Studio, Matthieu combines his love for conceptual exploration with his exacting eye for detail.
